In April, I enjoyed Yoshino cherry tree again this year.

When the Yoshino cherry blossoms  fall, the double flowered cherry trees are in full bloom.

I went to Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture to see the double flowered cherry trees.

Double cherry blossoms are used for cherry-flavored sweets.
My mother took the fallen flowers home and salt them.

I bought a delicious bread in Ono City.
Recently in Japan, bread that is particular about the ingredients and texture is popular.

Japanese sand lance season

In the area along the sea in the southern part of Hyogo prefecture, it is customary to cook the fry of sand lances "Ikanago" in March.
Many people cook a lot of sand lance fry.
It's called "Ikanago no kugini".  In Japanese, Kugi is nail and Ni is boiled.
It looks like rusted and bent nails. That ’s why it ’s called.
During this time, those people are busy cooking and shopping.
My mother is busy and frustrated to cook. This isn't obligatory. She doesn't have to cook that much.
The fishing is only allowed in March.
The price of sand lance has increased due to the decrease in catch in recent years.
Despite the cost and effort, people buy and cook sand lances.

The Fry of sand lances is seasoned with soy sauce, syrup, ginger, etc.
In these areas, at this time of year, the smell of cooking fish with soy sauce drifts.
It's a smell that signals the arrival of spring for us.
"Ikanago no kugini" has a strong taste, is well preserved, and is eaten little by little every day.

And those people distribute a large amount of cooked sand lances to their neighbors and relatives.
I don't think it's necessary to distribute it to the neighborhood because the neighbors also cook sand lances.
The taste is slightly different for each household.

I went to Mitsu-cho and Tatsuno city in the southern part of Hyogo prefecture.
On this day, many families ate oysters and went to see plum blossoms.

Eating out in Hyogo

The Beware of COVID-19 has continued since March 2020.
In the southern part of Hyogo prefecture, many restaurants are open, and customers are using them with a small number of people and their families while paying attention to COVID-19.
I also use in-store food and drink and take-out. I often go alone when I'm doing business. This is to prevent economic stagnation.
Here are some of the stores I've been to for  a year that I especially like.

Indian restaurant Sona Rupa 
I have eaten Maton byriyani. It was very nice. Michelin listed store.

Soup noodle "Nabe Kishimen"   The soup stock was delicious. The service was very nice.

Ice cream with deep fried oysters in Hinase-cho, Okayama

A lot of oysters can be harvested around Hinase town, Okayama prefecture.
There are many oyster huts and restaurants where you can eat oysters.
These oysters are wonderfully delicious !
Okonomiyaki with oysters, Grilled oysters, Steamed oysters, Rice cooked with oysters, Deep fried oysters...etc.

It is located between Hiroshima and Osaka.
It takes about 2 hours by train from JR Osaka Station to Hinase Station.

There is a market 20 minutes on foot southwest of JR Hinase Station.
You can buy oysters, fishes, souvenirs, etc.
